FOLK KILN (MINYAO) MING BLUE AND WHITE |
The subject of Ming imperial Blue and White has been widely discussed by experts on chinese ceramics. They are treasured for their rarity and fine quality. In comparison, the study and collection of the non-imperial (folk kiln) Blue and Whites have been neglected. However, in recent years, an increasing number of scholars in China are focusing their study of this category of ceramics and rediscovering and confirming its artistic value. The paintings on Ming Blue and Whites possess a spontaneity and vigour which is lacking in imperial wares.
This site is intended as a reference source of Minyao Ming blue and white.
